This is a hard issue to come on to... While I hope the Madrid museum-officials don't try to pull a cover over the thing, it is hard to say that such things belong with the unwary viewer. I however will take it in stride and am quivering with anticipation for it to come!

And she wants to do an entire exhibit on the opera's "undergarments." Can't wait to find out about that.

In Spain, there is going to be a photography exhibit that will feature Islamic art in many sacred places. Their goal is to influence people to learn more about Islamic art.

However, I could be wrong.

I love Japanese art, and it's so interesting to find something coming from Kobe! Usually when I think of Kobe I think of hand-massaged, beer-fed cattle-for-beef, not art. But these bracelets are beautiful!

Kathryn, I love your summary.
It's really great for the art market when sales like this make so much money. With the economy being the way it is there have been a lot of articles recently about sales and auctions where even Picasso's works have been flops.

I kind of agree with the artist. Displaying a part of history isn't necessarily showing support for anything. Plus, vandalism is vandalism, no matter how well-intentioned.

I think this was a great article and really interesting. When such an ancient piece of artwork is destroyed, it really is a great loss for society. The fact that society took the effort and the time to rebuild this stone panel from the Greeks makes its importance and influence that much more apparent

I think this is a really weird way of making art. o.o But still! It makes him different because no one else would want to make a sculpture like that it seems... And the sculptures he makes you just kinda wanna stare at until you notice all the fine differences between the different sculptures of himself.

Haha that is pretty amazing. I'm assuming that there was no permit for this, making it illegal. So technically its graffiti art? I dunno. What I do know is that I want to try it! *within the boundaries of the law, of corrse =)*

Haha. That would be horrible though, to be the artists. The canvas wasn't just some painting. It was pure white, so the red lipstick completely ruined the pureness of the work.

That is interesting, so what is meant by the art collection being highly secretive? Was no one sure of it's existence until now?
