All Art is Propaganda

This gallery features the art of engraver Eric Gill's legacy and also his students. This art includes typography, lettering, and engravings in the vane of the medieval printing guilds of England. The argument in the exhibition is that all art is saying something and supporting a message, though their typographical art may do so more clearly than others.

Jeff Koons: Artist, Collector, and Curator?

Jeff Koons has established himself as one of the world's most famous living artists. However, despite having achieved stability and success making art, Koons has recently expanded his interests beyond making his own art: he is now managing others' art. Curating a show at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, Koons hopes to both aid the institution that gave him his first solo-exhibition and to follow in other great artists' footsteps as a curator. Duchamp, Picasso, Warhol, and Kosuth all proved to have talent in organizing shows. To accomplish this goal, Koons is drawing on his personal experiences collecting and displaying art in his own home. When personal finances permit, Koons is an avid collector who tends to choose works revolving around the body and sexuality. His fascination with artists that have come before him even manifests itself as historical references hidden in his art. Regardless of critics’ doubts of his inexperience and base collection, this show will allow Koons to express his appreciation of art history and how it impacts modern artists like himself.

Her commercials range from beyond hilarious to heartbreaking all the while are effective in selling the advertised product. But she walks a fine line between some of the subjects she uses for her commercials and offense material. She knows what will sell a product but its not always what the producers want to hear nor do they want to show her commercials with their slightly veiled controversy. But they are going to have to deal now that she is finally being recognized around the world after years of hard work. So watch out, if you starting laughing hysterically at a Nando's commercial just think of all the work Cindy Lee has put in to make you laugh for just a few moments.

'Blind art' exhibition launched

A new exhibition featuring the works of artists suffering from the loss of their vision will be opened this week in Scotland. The artists are all members of classes held by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), and are afflicted by varying degrees of sight loss. To create these works, the artists were forced to rely upon their imagination and memory, limitations which actually allowed them to express themselves to a greater degree, said a tutor at aiding with the classes. Their strong individualism can be seen in the variety of quality work produced. These limitations have also forced them to become "remarkably inventive" with their problem solving skills, the tutor added, and the artists usually only need the "obvious help" with locating their materials and getting set up.
