Andy Warhol, perhaps known most famously for his innovative pop art, also produced many lesser known album covers. In a new book entitled "Andy Warhol: The Record Covers, 1949-1987," Warhol's little known, but prolific work as an illustrator of album artwork is revealed. Fifty-one albums are catalogued, from the well known Velvet Underground & Nico cover, to more obscure, but still interesting jazz and folk covers. Written over the course of twelve years, the book is comprehensive and personal, relating Warhol's side career as an album artist with his acclaimed pop art.
