Three men arrested for attempting to sell Iraqi artifacts
http://art2news.corank.com/tech/story/three-men-arrested-for...
Three men were arrested on Sunday after being caught for trying to sell stolen artifacts. These arrests were made south of Kirkuk after the men tried to sell one of the objects to an undercover police officer for $160,000. The men had artifacts dating from 2000-4000 B.C, during the Sumerian Period. The plan for the arrests had been ongoing and resulted from a tip-off by local residents. It is still unclear whether the pieces are among those stolen from the National Museum in Baghdad in 2003.
