Based on a survey of over 60 major art museums, at least one third of the museum directors are taking pay cuts, either in the form of salary cuts, removed bonuses, unpaid leave, of a reduction of benefits. The Topkapi Museum in Istanbul will be showing 150 artifacts from Iran usually displayed in the National Museum of Iran. Almost 100 Persian artifacts will also be part of the show, which starts November third and will go on for three months. Conferences on Iran's art, culture and civilization are also planned. The Topkapi Museum also contains the most holy artifacts of the Muslim world, such as the Prophet Muhammad’s cloak and sword. Join discussion...
