Stone Panels in Greece Restored after 2500 years

In Vienna, Greece, one of the most prestigious stone panels called Heroon of Trysa was rebuilt after a destructive accident. The panel is made of limestone created in about 380 BC. The panels were originally built at the burial site of an honored ruler. The panel represents Greek Classical style. The reassembly of the 500 pieces took about 7 years.

Paris Street Artists Feel Threatened

In Paris, artists paint landscapes and other types of works on the streets of the city. The works made are sold to almost only tourists. There are about 300 licensed artists on the street and about 10 million tourists to sell their art to per year. Famous painters such as Picasso and Matisse sold on the streets, upholding this tradition. However, similar works are being mass produced and sold cheaply in Paris souvenir shops. The artists are feeling defeated because their art is more expensive because of higher quality. It isn't fair that they are losing money.

Egg sells for 18 million at art auction in London

A Faberge Egg is a collection of deocrative egg-shaped clock statues, symbolizing the Russian Revolution. The infamous Rothschild family has owned this certain egg for years, but it was recently sold for 18 million US dollars. The buyer was a Russian tycoon, admiring this slice of history. ORginially, the egg took over a year to make, with over one hunreded artisans working on it.

Skyscraper built from toys

A Californian toymaker built a 65-foot skyscraper out of toy pieces. The pieces were made of stainless steel, known as an "Erector Set." The building stands in Rockafellar center in New York.
