Over 80 ancient Egyptian artifacts were returned to a museum in Egypt, after being stolen and sold by an American helicopter pilot in 2002. Some artifacts dated back to 3000 BC, and were taken back into Egyptian custody when border Immigration and customs enforcement seized them after an interrogation. Join discussion...

Sienese Religious Panels Found in English Church

Recently, 2 Sienese panels were discovered in a church in England, close to Sheffield. The paintings were never really taken into consideration by the church, but now are valued at 300,000 pounds. These 5 foot tall paintings depict St. Bernardino and an unidentified saint, who is most likely St. James. The panels date back to 15th-century Italy, and were painted by a Sienese artist Sano di Pietro. They remain in fine condition and are now in private display at York City Art Gallery and will be sent on a long term loan to the York Minister, to hang in the treasury.
