Recently, 2 Sienese panels were discovered in a church in England, close to Sheffield. The paintings were never really taken into consideration by the church, but now are valued at 300,000 pounds. These 5 foot tall paintings depict St. Bernardino and an unidentified saint, who is most likely St. James. The panels date back to 15th-century Italy, and were painted by a Sienese artist Sano di Pietro. They remain in fine condition and are now in private display at York City Art Gallery and will be sent on a long term loan to the York Minister, to hang in the treasury. On October 6th, the National Arts Awards were held on 42nd street in New York, New York. This years winners featured Dame Julie Andrews, winning the life achievement award, J. Barry Griswell for the Corporate Citizenship in the Arts award, Yoko Ono, Kitty Carslisle Hart Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts, Joan W. Harris, winning the Frederick R. Recently, Ironton Studios and Gallery welcomed back Bill Stockman to Denver, Colorado. He had been touring in other cities and last winter appeared in an exhibit at the Singer Gallery in Denver.
